Fifth generation wireless telecom technology boasts internet speeds several times faster than 4G with seamless, lag-free connectivity for billions of devices in real time, set to transform various sectors such as health care, education and agriculture.

At India Mobile Congress 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled 5G services in specific cities as a first step toward ushering in a new era.

Reliance Jio

Reliance Jio has quickly established itself as an industry disruptor since entering wireless in 2016. PM Modi witnessed an impressive demonstration of augmented and virtual reality applications that will benefit the masses. A student from Dankaur, Uttar Pradesh appeared through a hologram to tell him about how an immersive education experience allowed her to learn about solar systems. Later, he visited pavilions set up by various telecom operators for hands-on experience of 5G services; drones were being used for precision farming while high security routers secured data; sewer monitoring systems could also be seen at work in addition to demonstrations showcasing how workers in an under construction tunnel can be monitored remotely via VR/AI monitoring methods ensuring worker safety during construction using VR/AI monitoring technologies.

Vodafone Idea
